2006 Mazda 3 – Replacing Front Brake Pads & Rotors

Just a quick video showing how to replace the front brake pads & Brake Rotors on a 2006 Mazda 3.
Tools needed:
A large screwdriver or prybar
7mm Allen Wrench or socket allen wrench style (what I used in the video)
17mm socket or wrench with breaker bar
sil glyde or similar brake grease

Torque specs I found online say the caliper slide pins are 21 ft lbs and the Caliper Support Bracket bolts are 75 ft lbs.

In the video, I used the screwdriver to pry the caliper piston back inside the caliper, but sometimes this tool helps.  It’s a great tool to have on hand when you need it.

Not a very difficult job, just take your time and be patient with the front brake spring.

Also, since I put the brake spring on last, it was kind of difficult to line up the caliper slide pins/bolts.

If I did this again, I might try to put the front spring on first which may have made it easier to line up the slide pins.
