2001 Toyota Avalon Cabin Air Filter – Bosch

2001 Toyota Avalon Cabin Air Filter – Bosch

You should change the cabin air filter in your toyota Avalon every 15,000 to 25,000 miles, or once a year.

A new filter will provide cleaner air in the passenger cabin. The outside air is full of pollen, dust, dirt and other contaminants

Replacing your cabin air filter in your Toyota Avalon will trap the contaminants before they enter the vehicle cabin, which allows the driver and/or passengers to breathe more healthy, refreshing air.

Please click on the link above to purchase the filter that I used in the video from Amazon.

You will need:
10mm socket with wrench and an extension (longer than the one I used would be better.)
a phillips screwdriver.
I forgot to show it in the video, but you should also disconnect the ground cable on the battery before attempting to do this.

You just need to undo the screw on the bottom left of the glove compartment (this may not come all the way out). And the small 10mm head bolt on the bottom right side. You can also use a phillips screwdriver for this one. Then you just need to undo the three phillips screws in the top of the glove box. You can remove the black plastic piece under the glove compartment by pulling it down. This will allow you to pull down the glove compartment completely. It will have two wired connections that also must be removed. The black one on the left and the abs connection on the right as seen in the video. Once you have the glove compartment assembly removed, you can easily access the cabin air filter panel. Just push in on both sides and pull the plastic tray out towards you. You can then take out the old filter and put the new one in it’s place. Just put everything back together in the reverse order that you removed it and you’re done.
Thanks for watching!
