2011 MAZDA CX-9 REAR BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT – EASY DIY

Just a quick video showing how to replace the Rear Brake Pads on a 2011 Mazda CX 9.
Tools needed:
large screwdriver or small pry bar
14mm wrench and/or socket
sil-glyde brake grease

Brake cleaner:

Torque spec for the caliper slide pin bolt is around 22 ft. lbs.

*I know it is recommended to take out the slide pins and clean and lubricate them every brake job, but I didn’t do it on this one because the vehicle is still fairly new, and the slide pins were moving smoothly. Also, I don’t show it on every brake job video, but remember to check the master brake cylinder’s brake fluid level before pushing the calipers in, and once you’re done. And please remember to step on the brake pedal a couple times before driving the vehicle. This pushes the caliper pistons back out so the pads will be properly adjusted to the rotor.
